NB rear brake setup onto NA

Hey guys looking into purchasing a complete set of NB rear brakes to suit the NB fronts I just bought off the forums. I don't know what model the NB brakes are from but they come with everything, discs and brake setup with the lines and pads still attached. Is this all I'll need. I know the dust cover has to be modified.

Later model NBs (NB8B and SEs) had what is known as the sports brakes. The rotor is bigger, and I think the caliper is as well. Make sure they will fit behind your wheels by doing a test fit. Also I don't you want a mis match of sports brakes on the back and smaller NB brakes on front as this might upset the proportioning between back and front .....I suggest measuring the rotor size (diameter/thickness) and check against this against information some other threads on the forum.
Here is a thread on rotor sizes, which includes a link to the DBA website.

from memory the sports brakes come from the factory with bigger brakes at the rear to start with. Im fairly confident these aren't the sports brakes.

Exactly!
as already said - make sure you correctly identify the brakes you bought (either measure the rotors accurately or ask the guy what they came off), then buy the matching pair for the rear.
You can get away with sports front, and smaller (early nb) rears with only a moderate loss of balance and stopping capability (however the car will tend to lock up the fronts first under heavy braking) BUT if you have early nb fronts on, and slap on a set of later NB sports brakes at the rear, you will end up locking the rears and spinning off the road under heavy braking!!! downright dangerous.
Keep the brakes as a matched set for all 4 wheels, and the balance will be right to give best stopping power and stability under brakes.

i put the NB front on the car last night but have some questions
Is it ok to use the original NA brake lines or should i also change to the NB lines too?
I also noticed that in some pictures there are 4 clips and 2 springs for each side but some pictures show another smaller clip that goes at one side of the pad. the kit i bought only has 1 of these clips and my NA didnt have the clips at all. does anyone know what this small clip is and if its essential.
no matter how hard i slam the brakes i cannot get the wheels to lock up, dont know if this is normal as i've never intentionally wanted to lock up wheels before.
i also think i didnt bend the dust cover back enough cos there is a rubbing sound which is worse when i turn. Ill sort that out tonight. It was a worthwhile upgrade, seeing the two discs side by side made me realise how small the NA6 brakes are.

Hi mate
If the brake lines are the same then it doesn't matter
If one is longer than the other then just make sure that it doesn't get tangled up with anything when on full lock
The clip is most likely a squealer which rubs on the disc when the pads are worn down so you know to replace them
I don't know about the other clips
