Rear brake adjuster stuck. Sliders pins OK.

Somewhere in its previous life the passenger side rear brake adjuster on my NA8 become stuck (seized, jammed, stuffed) and someone then managed to round out the allen key head on the adjuster.
Along I came and try to adjust the rear brakes and find the above. I have removed that rear brake from the car and stripped it down. Slider pins are fine. Seals not broken/split, but I will replace them all. I was able to rotate the brake piston and screw it off the adjusting screw in the body of the caliper and removed it.
I have not been able to remove the brake adjuster. It is stuck tight, I can not turn it, nor can I withdraw it from the rear of the caliper. Just to be clear, it is this part that is stuck.
Below is a break down of a rear brake. The adjusting screw is the shown just to the left of centre. The splines of the adjuster mesh with the splines of the adjusting screw which then moves the piston in or out.
The adjusting screw in the caliper body is held by a circlip. If I remove the circlip and pull out the adjusting screw will I be able to remove the adjuster? Is there any other way of removing the adjuster?
I'm now going to have a search of the big forum as well.
Thanks in anticipation.
