Hi Folks, Thought I'd share my results of today's job on my 2000 NB8A.
After checking other threads here & there, I thought I'd give the recommended Subaru Light Silver #262 a go to repaint the wheel caps.
I found that a major chain (S****C****A***), sells 'Powerplus' Light Silver Metallic, code PJ-9070 as a match for the above Suby code in a 250gm aerosol.
Pic (rather fuzzy) of the wheels showing the familiar yellow plastic. YUK
Pic of the caps after I had removed them from the car. Note: (I did not remove the wheels to push the caps out from behind as I had read elsewhere. Rather, I turned the caps to the side, (as if undoing a bottle top), then used a small flat blade driver to gently work around and prize them off, carefully;)
Last night I soaked them in warm soapy water and let them dry off.
Pic of a cap after 2 of 3 coats I did. 30mins between light coats. No runs that way;)
Here's one wheel as finished. It is a darker silver than the wheels themselves but I am guessing the original colour was too. Dunno?
Anyway, I'm rapt with the results:)
Two more pics side on from the front and back.
Total cost was less than $20:)
Hope this helps someone fix this problem.
Cheers

Re: NB Centre Cap Repaint
scotchbrite and plastic primer would have been good for longevity but i guess you'll find that out in a while.
