I want a BMCS without a strut brace - any options?

Title says it all, I'm after the improved brake-feel with a brake master cylinder stopper but don't particularly want a strut brace to go with it.

I suppose I could buy an adjustable strut brace and install it neutrally... or I could buy a 3-piece strut brace with a stopper and only mount the drivers side stay to the strut tower.

Second option seems a bit ghetto. If I had a welder I spose I could make something myself.

Any other, better options out there?

Could make one with hand tools out of Alloy/steel bits from bunnings.

I've got about 2 feet of 3mm alloy L section if you want to play around, ket me know and I can bring it to garage one week or something.

Otherwise, there are $50 strut braces on ebay that would work (just use the driver's side end bracket) then add a stopper to it.

nope, they need a lot of modification to make that work.

The one I used to have line up fine, it jsut looked like it needed a stopper added.

Granted, I wasn't thinking of a stopper at the time.

Make one of these

6mm angle, cut to go around shock mount, BUT you need to have NA8 top mounts as they have longer mount bolts.

Easy peazy

This is one I threw together myself. Adjustable, strong and you really feel the difference.

Interesting and some simple ideas there. Thanks a lot guys.

Nik, that alloy L might be just what I need, if a little thin. I'd gladly take it off you hands for a beverage of your choice at the garage one night!

I've really gotta impulse buy a welder one of these days...

For that price I'll definitely make one myself. Forgot I have a mate who can TIG some alloy together for me so that's probably what I'll do now.

Now i'm really keen!
