Good offset for 15" wheels?

I am currently looking for a set of 15" wheels for my NB preferably something with a nice dish. I'm looking for a 7" wide possibly 8" wide. The standard offset for the NB is around +40 I think, but I'm looking for something a bit closer to the guards to help give that flusher look. Nothing silly requiring rolled arches or silly amounts of camber, just a fuller look towards the guards.
What offsets are people here running without any headaches like camber issues / rubbing etc? Would +20 on a 7" rim be the limit without affecting handling etc?

Cheers

I have been advised by a real MX-5 racer that the offset is crucial to the suspension design of the car. 6ul have a conservative +36, even +30 is probably stretching it, though if you are going for looks ultimate handling is not really relevant.

RACER or RICER, it's your choice.

Go buy some cheap Sportsmax wheels.

Will look the part and not break the bank, best is they fit

Might need rolled guards.... but that isnt really "silly"..... not in my opininon

Got 15X7 +30 with 195/50 tyres on my NA. They just fit, I think 205/50's would rub slightly. Not sure if this is much help for your NB though :)

I've got 15*7+38 with 205/50/15
Running, I think, 1.8deg camber at the rear
100% Stock guards etc (no rolling or anything)
Lowered ~25mm

Not "flush" with the guards, but they sit out a little more than the OEM wheels (15mm closer to guard)

I've never had them rub at all.
The closest they've come to rubbing is at full lock, and fairly heavy suspension compression they've got close, but haven't actually hit the guard. (during a bitumen motorkhana)

I had 15x7 with +25 offset on my NA Clubman (which is slightly lowered than the standard NA I believe) and they didn't rub on 195/50/15.

15 x 7 with +25 on my NB. 195/50/15 are a pretty much perfect fit. Lowered around 35mm, no problems with rubbing.

Excellent, thanks guys. Like I say, I'm not looking for some "fully sik" 18" rims sticking 6" outside the arches, just a smart wheel that helps fill the arches a bit more towards the guard without noticeably affecting handling or feel.

6UL's will look great and fill the arch out in the 15 x 8. if you want to roll the guards then maybe get the 9's but you don't need those for the street.

best part about the 6ul's is they are fairly light for their size considering they are not forged wheels.
