Yellow Speed Racing coilovers - DD?

Hi,
I'm looking at upgrading my stock suspension for a daily drive 1995 NA8. And at the same time lowering it slightly.
There's currently a GB on the sponsors section for the Yellow Speed Racing coilovers being a bit over $800 a set. Price is very reasonable.
http://www.mx5mania.com.au/product1810.htmWould you recommend this for an upgrade to daily drive? I'm also considering a set of Tokico Illumina. Or am I wasting my money. The car will not see the track.
I want to retain a nice comfort ride for DD. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
THanks.

My car has a fixed sparco bolted to the floor. No carpet. No windows. No soft top. No rear hardtop window. No heater. No fan. No console. Button clutch. Running on alcohol every day, with super hard HKS coilovers and plenty more.
I consider it a perfectly daily-able car. I doubt you would. I do daily it. Cops ask me if its even registered.
The question is what do you consider to be dailyable?
But if what your asking is, 'are these yellowspeeds stiff?'. The answer is god yes.

Patrick who owns casper, the mx5 club outright all time wakefield park lap record holder, had me rremove his yellowspeeds from his na8(blown serious daily/track car) because they were just stupid uncomfy.
Also, super soft damping with stiff springs feels comfy for half an hour, then its bouncing up and down so quick you need to stop and pee. Half an hour later guess what. Pee break again.
You wont believe what happens half an hour later again... Yep you guessed it, pee break.
So dont just think youll set the, to full soft and it will be comfy, because the dampers can no longer control the oscillation.

As PM states, get Koni Shocks and some King Springs.
This combination will give you the desired results cheaper and with no real losses in drivability.

Where abouts can I get these Konis? Mx5mania are selling them for a bit over $1000 for the set. No springs. Not that cheap.

In that respect, should I consider the Koni sport or street? I'm doing some research now however, don't know if I should spend the extra for sports if i'm not going to track it.

You sound like you just want to replace flogged stuff, and a bit of an upgrade for the sake of it would you agree?
Do you do mountain runs (ie take it to twisty roads with no other intention except to flog the piss out of it)? Or just go to the shops/work?

From what I can see, your best selection from the above mentioned is...
013. Koni Street Shocks 1989 - 1997 Set of 4 F&R #8050-1041 fr 8050-1042 rear Free shipping 296.80
and
040. Eibach Pro-Kit Springs FREE SHIPPING 1990 - 1998 Free shipping U.S. 48 states. (Canada, PR, HI , AK please call for reduced rates).Lowers car 1.0 inches (5515.140) 210.56
Total of 507.36 US $ at current conversion rate that would be 463.15 Aus dollars
This would give you good quality shocks, that aren't adjustable combined with Eibach springs that are reliable and 1 Inch lower than current ride height.
Eibach are just as good quality as Kings in my personal opinion.

Daily drive and a bit of mountain fun on weekends. Nothing serious.
I'm currently running on stock shocks, with lowered springs. It drives fine, however, starting to annoy me when it bottoms out over shopping centre speed bumps and its a bit bouncy.
I'm wanting to make the car more comfortable to drive. I've been in my mates NC and was quite happy with the ride. I believe they come in Tokicos. Hence wanting to upgrade to the illuminas. But don't know if it's worth it for an DD.
I've never thought/ or considered the Konis' before. But am looking into it now.

Oh, and would the KYB GR2 be a similar product to this? A local seller has offered them to me. Might be cheaper for postage. thanks

Biggest problem with NA suspension is lack of travel in the rear.
Always amplified with lowered springs. (the Bottoming out and Bouncyness you are getting).
Koni with Kings is a great road/track setup but to gain the most from any lowered setup you really need different Top Hats for the rear.
Google search TOP MOUNTS NA MIATA and you will find a huge amount of info on them.
You can buy new top mounts from FAT CAT MOTORSPORT and Flyin Miata.
FCM (FAT CAT) are great as you can order there redesigned Bump Stops which are a huge improvement over OEM.
Have a bit of a read on the matter and you should have a better understanding of what you need.
The FCM site has some great easy to understand info.
