Attn those of you who have rebuilt rear calipers

Postby mitch_f1 » Fri Jul 01, 2011 5:29 pm

I am rebuilding my spare set of rear calipers, and I have just found a set of c-pliers that are able to remove the circlip from the depths of the caliper, but i have found that the hotdog pin is covered in a grey grease (not suprising really). What kind of grease is this? I want to replace it, as it is looking a bit gunky (dud handbrake seal). I have some PBR rubber grease, or some permatex slider pin grease, which would be best, or neither?

Thanks

Its probably a super high temp rubber grease.

Im not sure whats on yours, but a regular grease will melt off quick smart.

Okay, so the PBR rubber grease is made specifically for brake applications, so it would be super high temp (http://www.pbr.com.au/products/replacem ... lary.shtml). So that is what I am putting in there?
