CAR:
MX5 NB SERIES 2 2001 MODEL STOCK AS A ROCK WITH A CAI

Ok the mx5 is my first RWD car.

The car gets like jumpy sometimes on very hard starts after some research i came across something called axle tramp?
Did some searching on the forum, its all talk about it happening but no talk about FIXING IT..

Google only got me answers to Supra's and VE commodores, Blown shocks. I ripped out my shocks, they are DEFINATELY not blown. So yeh. how do i fix this?? Is it inevidable. I dont have umch mechanical knowledge anything i got was from Honda (FWD) so these MX5's creep me out lol.

So yeh basically question is
How do i FIX axle tramp??, if its NORMAL what can i do to help avoid it anything i can buy.. a mod perhaps? or driving technique..

Doesn't matter whether it is FWD or RWD. Dealing with axle tramp is the same. Correct tyre pressures, firmer shocks, stiffer springs, sway bar or being slower with clutch release all help.

OE

Operator Error - Either go harder, and make sure you get plenty of wheelspin, or take it much easier and smoother.
In between is the hardest on your drive train.

Maybe a bit left field but are you sure its axle tramp and not clutch shudder, NB's were known to be pretty notorius for it :?

firmer shocks, stiffer springs can also add to axle tramp, if the car can't "squat".

Not riding the cluch just learning what RPM to launch at and having control.
