What cir-clip setting when using Koni + Kings

When I bought my MX5 it was fitted with King lowering sport springs on Koni Yellows.

These were set to the lowest cir-clip setting. I was scraping on everything so I set it to the middle perch. This has been ok but I still find my car scraping the middle on driveways and speed humps. I've just signed a lease on a new flat and I've found no possible way to enter the garage without touching underneath.

My first thought is to go to the highest perch but I'm wondering if I should keep the perch at 'clubman' setting and use different springs? Constant rate springs rather than progressive seem to be the rave with coilovers - is there something similar for the Koni's?

What is everyone else using?

try the rears on the highest perch before you try anything else. you will probably find that your ride quality will improve as well.

there isn't much sense in trying to match clubman ride height if you don't have clubman suspension - shock travel, bump & springs rates will be different to the clubman setup.

Surely it should best be matched height front and rear?

I guess I'll try full height first and see how that clears the driveway and get a fresh wheel alignment. I hate spring compressors. :|

for best stability, the rear of the car should be slightly higher than the front. on my NA8, the rear was still pretty low on the highest setting.

if you're brave, it is possible to move the circlip without spring compressors:

the pics no longer work, but basically you can use a big leaver and the half shafts as the fulcrum on each side.

Also, if you go to the lowest setting on the back with the stock top mounts you will be pretty much on the bump stops and this does not make for good handling - been there with the same setup on my NA6.

It's now at the highest setting. It drives ok but I should chase a wheel alignment asap.
