NA6 & NA8 Calipers & Pistons

Is it true that the front and rear pistons are the same size on both the NA6 & NA8.

I've heard the NA8 calliper is slightly different to allow for the bigger pad but that both will work however you can get uneven pad wear using an NA6 calliper and NA8 pad. I've not seen any proof of it though.
