Good wheel size?

Hi guys just wanna ask about wheel sizes/designs for a red NB8A...

Before someone says it, yes i have done some research...maybe not enough? :?

Anyway just wondering what some of you experienced mx-5 drivers out there would recommend to buy! Mainly just want to upgrade for looks and performance considering I am running on the stock wheels, the 15x6 40offset alloy ones...

Running on stock suspension, will most likely be upgrading in the future. :D

Found that I love the look of the Lenzo D1r, black with a polished lip...or is there better out there that I've missed?

Just mainly for NSW roads, some "fun :D" driving and maybe some track days in the future :?:

Or maybe I should just stick with that I've got? :?

Just would like some opinions! Thanks!

go with whatever you are happy with. as you don't need them for any specific purpose, then you need to only find round ones. and any colour you like. i think you are just over thinking it. if gonna track it in the future, the smaller and wider, the better.

Don't get anything too heavy. MX5's don't appreciate too much unsprung weight.

Best of luck...

I agree with the small and wide point above.

You will notice a rougher ride on larger rims, I'm running 17" rims and the roads in nsw suck.
I think ill buy a set of 15s when cash flow increases.

More tyre on lower psr seems to be more comfortable, plus the weight is also less

Having run 17", 16" and 15", I would agree with the small and wide approach. My favorite set at the moment is 15 x 7, ET +20 fits really well with 205/50 or 195/50. 15" tyres are generally cheaper to buy as well. I have a good line on on some ET25 - 35's, let me know if you are interested.

You could do a lot worse than pick up a set of these (RPF1) in 15".

Not a fan of the black spoked RPF1.

Trust me, the best size for NA/NB is 15x7 +40 to +35.

and look for light weight wheels, i mean 5-6kgs.

I've had 16's, 14's and now 15's. 15's gave me the best ride and handling.

I have Enkei RPF1's in 15x7 +35.

Hi, thank you all for such quick replies! :D

I will probably go with 15" wheels, will check out my local suppliers to see whats around and readily avaliable first before I commit to anything.

Also if some others have some input, would be a good idea to post em up, someone else might find this useful :)

Thanks again!

15" tyres are easier to find than 14" and 16" tyres are much more expensive.

For some example wheels have a look at: http://www.good-win-racing.com/Mazda-Performance-Parts/MX5/Wheels-Tires/Wheels.html?id=zk5kn64Z

The 6UL's are quite popular: http://www.mx5centre.com.au/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=260

Pity they don't come in better offsets though. Seems to be either +35 or +41 and thats it..
I'd love a 15x7.5 +15. Perfect size and offset for my application...
