Master Cylinder Options

Looking for a 15/16 master cylinder that will fit a non-abs NA6. It would be great if it was bolt on but modification is not out of the question.

I think 2001-2005 Miatas were 15/16 - was that also true for australian mx5s? Would this master cylinder bolt on?

I asked my local brake place but they said their catalogues only had earlier model 7/8 ones, so any suggestions as to where to pick one up would be helpful. Or any suggestions of an alternate part (I have a vague recollection that the protege master cylinder was also available in 15/16 and bolts on).

What I ended up using was a 1" master cylinder - pretty sure it was for a Nissan Patrol 4WD. External dimensions were almost identical - it bolts straight up to the booster. The only thing I had to do that wasn't bolt-on was to cut some length off the adjustment pin, and make up brake lines to suit it.

For the record, using a 1" master cylinder with these calipers works well (using 295mm rotors) once the DS2500 pads are fully bedded in. Pedal is firm and with good feel, but you can still lock the brakes if you push hard enough.

I believe the NB8B master cylinder is 15/16. This goes for all Australian delivered 2001-05 cars. Outside of Oz, only cars fitted with "sport" brakes had the 15/16 I think.
