235/45/17 will they fit

I have been considering a set of 17'' wheels for a while how, as I am very limited with the rims avaiable that fit over the 290mm front brake discs on my NB. I was also going to change the diff ratio to 3:9 as it is turbo , and a larger tyre diameter may do the trick , with out forking out the extra dollars on a diff.
The car is a track car and sees very little time on the roads.
I have been given a set of new 235 45 17 RE55s semis, They look pretty big, but with the correct offset rims, will they fit under my NB?

Unless your running incredibly stiff suspension I'd expect you to get wheel well contact under full compression. I find on 225/50/15's I get touching when on full compression uphill to the front. The rear seem fine so not sure how much further they can go. I'd say if your not running too much offset the width will still clear the strut towers and guards and height will be your bigger problem with those tyres.

had another look last night, pulled a wheel off , and held the tyre in place, would be fine if we only went in straight lines, theres not much it won't hit when you turn the wheel
