Polishing brake calipers?

hey guys,
was just thinking about the alternative to painting brake calipers as i have been told that when painting then you run the risk of brake seizure and the paint chips off/ burns off etc over time.
I would like to polish them to a silvery/ glossy finishas this would stand out with my new black 16's on my red NA6 :D
Anyway was just wondering if anyone had any advice on the do's and dont's in terms of polishing materials such as these and even your opinions on the subject. Is it a good idea? or should i just stick to painting them silver? :S

Heres what my wheels look like,

Cheers,
Adrian.

Sorry it won't work. I tried a number of years ago thinking it was an alloy casting and would look good for Concours but they rusted within half a day.
They're obviously a super hard iron.
I managed to get the casting marks off using an angle grinder fitter with a coarse buffing pad on the main flat section but stopped after I saw that it wouldn't end up the way I wanted.
I then just sprayed them with high temp paint which really didn't like the now smooth surface.

The paint's fine, just can't see it under the dust from the Yellow Stuff pads
