On my way to Canberra last Wednesday (to look at my new 2007)I suffered a puncture at Wangaratta in my Laguna Turbo diesel fitted with 225/45x17 Michelins. Steel sharp through the tread.

I have had a great relationship with the local BJ franchise buying a lot of tyres for my cars and friends over the years and went down to get it fixed the next day.Bit dismayed that it had reverted to a company owned outlet and all my good contacts had gone.

Tyre repaired but went down again so back again this morning for another try.

Had a coffee and then the manager comes over and explains that whoever had done the repair had buffed the inside(presumably to get rough surface to attach the repair to) too much and had hit a steel cord and that I would need a new tyre that THEY would provide free!!!

These tyres had done 45000klms and probably had another 15000 in them and i thought it was an outstanding response. The new tryes are an updated version so I asked to buy another to have two new ones on the front and they gave me that at an excellent price, and said they would do a F/E alignment as well.

This guy could have told me that it was a different issue or fault ,or some other crap but was straight and honest, they had made a blue, owned up and came up with a generous offer to fix it.
Full marks, I say.

Peter

That is why I like to use local businesses. Better to deal with people face to face if it is practical. Well done indeed for the BJ guys in Geelong.
