Wondering if any one knows how to replace ball joint on upper front NA control arm.

My research says you need to buy a replacement.

Any one know of a simpler fix.

I was told by my mechanic that it's much better to get a new control arm, it's an expensive task either way.

According to Mazda, the ball joint is part of the upper arm and is repaired/replace as part of the complete upper arm assembly.

Could try to source a good second hand one or new from Mazda or MX5 Parts UK

Good Luck

Just read this -http://www.carcare101.info/project-miata/v8-roadsters-rebuildable-upper-ball-joint-installation/

Removal is the hardest part, local pedders/brake mechanic may have a press.

Front upper ball joints are critical to accurate steering. Until now, the only way to get replacements for worn-out ball joints was to buy entire new control arms from Mazda for over $300 per pair. V-8 Roadsters has finally solved this dilemma with their replacement ball joints. They are far higher quality than the factory ones as well as being adjustable, rebuildable, and lubricate-able.

taper on ball joint fits all NA and NB front spindles
splines on housing match stock Mazda control arms for easy replacement
tension-adjustable
Zerk fittings for refilling with grease
copper-plated hardened steel studs
billet aluminum housing is hard anodized for protection from the elements
includes boots, castle nuts, cotter pins, and washers

Price for both sides $150 USD
