G'day,

I have fitted the fronts with out any problems but im now having trouble with the rears...

The old pads and rotors are off but i cant compress the calipers to put the new pads on. The hand brake is off but still attached and the brake line has been taken off.

Any help would be greatly appretiated as i need my car for sunday on the reefton run.

Thanks in advance

Look under the rubber cap. The allen key is your friend.

Awesome il give it a try thanks for that.

I tell you old cars are a nightmare... i had to heat up the old rotors with an oxy to get them off

great i found the allen key screew (it was hidden behind a metal bolt)

Now i need a rear left brake caliper as the guide bolts didn't have the rubber dust covers on them and rusted up  James at MX5 Centre should have one :D

This is a very familiar story. Had the same experience myself when I first got my NA6 and first job was changing the brake pads - those rear pistons are tricky. I ended up here after a Google search. :D And the rear pad change went very smoothly after that. I highly recommend you invest in an MX-5 Workshop Manual if you plan on doing your own maintenance. I've been very hapy with my "Rod's" manual.
