I have a full set of r888's that i bought second hand very cheap but it seems they must have came off two cars as all the right hand corners have worn down.

just wondering if i can just rotate the left ones to run the wrong way as there is pleanty of tread on the outsides and want to use them on my first track day in december

There was a guy who ran the rear set back-to-front for the entire track-day without realising it, until I pointed it out to him.

He wasn't bothered by it and left it. he's a pretty hard charger on track.

It's been said that running reverse rotation can attribute to faster wear... anyone have any experience with this?

I've run them in the opposite direction a couple of times to even out wear when I didn't have the chance to get the tyres swapped on the rims... Works fine, no ill effects, but must be done in the dry only.

You must mean the right hand side when facing the car from the front otherwise your comments don't make sense. Then again I've had few ales!
Am I correct re direction?
And yes, the comments thus far are spot on.
And yes, R888's provide amazing grip (unless v old / hard)

In theory you may open up the tread splice-joint by running them backwards.
I have seen R888s run backwards many times without any problems.
The tread pattern only works in wet conditions.

Great thanks for everyones comments, ill be putting them on this week as i want to do a track day soon and the potenza g3's i'v got have gone hard and only good for drifting of skid pan

Peter yep your'e right! i meant to say the insides of the left wheels are worn, as for age they are late 2007 with plenty at least 40% tread on the outsides and were pretty cheap

if they are camber worn cant you just swap them left to right to even it out?

ie the left side tyres become the right side ones, and vice versa.

They're directional

edit: I guess you could take the tyres off and switch sides because AFAIK they are symmetrical

I think he means still rotates in the same direction but swaps from side to side
