Brake Clamping Problem

Hey,

Today I drove to uni with no problems, when I went to drive home I noticed it seemed like the brakes were on a bit. I stopped and found that the rear right was clamping and not letting go(it was hot and when bumping the car with the handbrake off it was obvious that that wheel was not budjing), all others were fine. I called a couple of friends, they had a couple of ideas but didn't know and one of them came to help, by the time he got there the problem was gone. Some how letting it sit fixed it.

The only thing I can draw from it is that it has to be something to do with the caliper and not the system, and it appeared that heat somehow contributed as the car was siting in the sun and it was a particulalry hot day, it got hotter when I drove it and then I was waiting for my friend the right side of the car was facing away from the sun allowing it to cool. The heat thing seems a bit weird and wouldn't be the cause but it seems to be a contributing factor.

Has anyone else experienced this or know what it is and what I should do about it?

What wun911 said. It could also be a sticky handbrake mechanism or a frozen piston. I'd check your caliper slider pins first as they are the easiest and then go from there if that's not your problem. If the caliper slider pins turn out to be the culprite it might be a good idea to have a look at the other 3 calipers too.
