Brake pads SE

Postby rvlovell » Tue Jun 09, 2009 10:40 am

Can someone tell me what the part number for front pads on a SE are. And where I might get some on the gold coast. So far I can't find any one who even wants to check their suppliers

Rob,

Are you after OEM or something else?

For OEM, try Mazda themselves, most rate them as a good pad for normal use.

Otherwise Mania has a good listing of bits http://www.mx5mania.com.au/brakes.htm

What colour SE did you score this time?

I would buy OEM if they weren't $240 And a 2 day wait. I have found sum at Global Auto.
For those who like a laugh Good Year Tyres offered to install pads for $300 for the labour only. Pads and skimming on top. Not bad for 1 hours work.

There not actually the same. If you refer here, MSM/SE is the second option for the rear and option 1 here are for the front.

Does work out cheaper to purchase them from the US even with shipping. Will be trying some Porterfield R4S sport brake pads soon, will leave some feedback compared to OEM.

The only pads I could get quickly were DBA's. $49. So far they feel the same as OEM. I'll bed them in then give them a work out then report my findings.

If you hear of an MX5 off the road at springbrook you'll know what happened
