My MX5's passenger side sits about 15-20mm higher than the driver side. It was pretty apparent with the OEM shocks. I've since changed to Tein Superstreets. I've had to wind the passenger side's collars lower than the driver's side to get the car to sit level...I'm taking to Heasmens soon to get a full alignment done and get that checked out, but is there any suggestion to what could be the cause?

I've got Teins. The car is level but there are big differences in the perch setting for each coilover to do it. I think my body is twisted.

my nb8a is like that, but only about 10mm.
Though it could be due to pre loading?
When I reinstalled my LCAs it took a while for it to settle, I literally had to jump on my car a few times, couldnt drive it cause all the bolts were loose getting ready to be tightened.

it's normaly for coilovers. just adjust each corner to match the weights/heights.

szemen i have some good news too. my car is like that. i have dropped the rear shocks to about.... 11 rungs left on both sides.
the right tyre is actually tucked under the guard
whereas the LHS ... you can fit 1.25 fingers in there.
i wonder why this is the case?

Both of my MX5's and Robert's "moneypit" have listed to the drivers side. I put it down to spending the majority of the time with only the driver on board. I find that if I have a special guest ballast on a lengthy drive like a club run then things level off a bit until I go back to driving around by myself again. I've recently replaced my original springs with some newer stock springs and things have levelled off a bit on my car but the drivers side is still about 4mm lower than the passenger side.

hrmm....
when i think about it..
if szemen has taken out his factory shocks and has replaced them with superstreets, and they still have a bias to the driver's side, there must be an emphasis in the chassis too on the driver's side, which the bias cannot be 100% due to the shocks or springs, as garry suggested.. this is interesting.
unless szemen, you would like to change your left rear shock with your right rear shock, and see if the bias in the rear has shifted to the left

in the past, members here spoke about pre thightening & pre loading the bolts when installing the suspension bits.
A friend of mine had this problem as well & it was sorted this way. I'm not sure how they went about it but the best way would probably be a drive on ramp?

THanks for all the suggestions. I'll take it as normal ona car... I've let the car settle down and ive wound down the driver side about 3mm last night. So overall difference might be in the region of 10-15mm.
Gary, I bought it down to that factor as well, as the NAs have a spare tyre as well as battery on that side. Coupled with only a driver in the car most of the time, the side would be lookin at about 80-90kg difference compared to the passenger side. Add 14 years and 190,000 Ks to it...
I'll drive the car a bit more, do more precise measuring and adjust it to see what the final difference is. But it sounds VERY normal
