17's on a nb2 ?
I am contemplating a set of 17 x 7.5 wheels for my car. They have an offset of +43.
Will they fit and what size tires will i need to keep things legal and workable ? I am looking for bolt on stuff so no mods to the car, i just want them for looks, no track work

there are a few nb's with 17's on them.
from recollection wun911 and silvermiata have 17's. they fill the guards very well.. but car needs to be lowered still

Yes they will fit without any issue. I had a set of 17" before with 215/40/17 also. It shouldnt be an issue. The only thing is 215/40 will make your car slightly taller. The correct ratio is 205/40/17.

One thing to bear in mind, if you are after weight reduction from your OEM rims...dont go 17". Even if you get one of the lightest 17" rims on the market, you'll probably ended around the same weight. Thust me I know, I went trhough 2 set of 17" before going back to 16".

Thanks guys, i have decided to stick with the stock 16's for now, weight isnt a concern but ride comfort is.

yeah if you want to maintain your ride comfort, it would be best sticking to teh current wheels and aim for a softer, longer sidewall tyre.

I have 17X7's all around on my NB with 205/40 on the front and 215/40 on the back.
I've had no problems with rubbing etc.
My car has had about 6 different sets of wheels on it from 15" through to 17", and I'm finding that the Falken RT615's I'm running on it are fantastic.
The grip really well and handle nicely with a nice, gentle break away.
The 215's in the RT615's are exactly (within a couple of mm's) the same diameter as the 205's.
I've had no problems with rubbing etc.

I use to run 17's on our NB but I enjoy the factory 15s more, they're a bit more predictable on the limit. (that said the 17s had average tyres).
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

I had stock 16" and moved to 17" with 215 profile 40 rubber.
They weigh the same as the stock 16" rims.
The car is lowered not stupid JDM low (Only lowered to corner weight and for performance not for looks).
I got a slighly better time (about 1 sec at winton) with the 17" (They had the same RE001 rubber as my 16" oem wheels both with similar ammouts of tread).
I do belive the slighly wider 215 rubber helps around the track, the 40 profile is more uncomfortable for daily driving.
In the future when I track im going to run the 16" oem at the front and the 17" enkei at the back, I love the lotus style.
They weigh the same as the stock 16" rims.

will the rolling diameter be the same? i'm thinking it might change the front rear weight distribution

16s vs 17s with the same weight would still mean the 16s would be quicker to accelerate, brake as the weight of the 17s is further away from the centre of the wheel, increasing the effort required to spin up and slow down (rotational inertia.?)
Were the times between the two on the same day, same conditions?
If not then I would suggest conditions (track, driver) were the difference not the wheels..
