Gave the toy some new shoes yesterday. Plenty here have fitted theirs with the Yokohama C-Drives but I got an exceptional deal on a set of S-Drives.

What a good feeling tyre.

I got A-drives on my Sus-suki (we are talking 13 inch rims) and they seem to hold on.

I think I last replaced the A539's in early 2004. The rears were well below the treadwear markers, but geez they stuck in the dry. The fronts had a little to go, but they did ride a bit hard.

Haven't done enough on the new ones but they dont feel squirmy - just smooth and soft. Barely any road noise and a wonderful ride quality.

I've heard the S Drives get their grip because they are quite a soft compound... but a owners opinion would be great
Please let us know what tyre life is like yeah?

They were A-Drive R1.... Not S-Drive. 8)

Tyre life has been around 10,000km though...

I have had Michelin Pilot Proceda's; 539's, Cdrives and Sdrives and have found all the Yoko's to be good, very disappointed in the Michelin's( they weren't Proceda 2's).

I can't tell that the Sdrives are a big improvement over the Cdrives but do find that they are a really good allround tyre, grip, low noise and reasonable wear(C drives just under 30000 klms fairly hard drĂven, have't done enough klms to tell with the S drive)

I find they are really predictable and communicative and good in the wet(not that we have much of that lately).

We had a bit of intermitent slippy stuff on the Reefton Sat morning a week ago and they handled that well.
