Hey guys dont have a chance to search old threads as im probably buying them tommorow, but just wondering if anyone has any expirience with them? Because not all tyres suit all cars im a bit worried about putting them on, however im getting top of the line continentals for around 100 a corner from a friend who is a wholesaler so its kinda evens out.

My Polo had Continentals fitted as standard. Have since replaced them with Precedas.

Continentals tend to be soft in the sidewall and compound. Give a nice ride and are relatively grippy in the wet. They did wear at a fast rate when pushed.

i had the Conti Sports Contact 2 on my A4... they are great tyres for an euro car... soft compound, grippy, low noise, very comfortable ride.... BUT I do find them wear out relatively fast..... i tried to put in Bridgestone S03 on the A4 before, but like u said, it just won't match the car.... and the handling got really shxty with the BS tyres on the A4..... gave the S03 to my friend and he putted into his IS200, they were perfect match....

I totally agreed that tyres works differently on different cars.... Not sure if CS would be a good choice for the mx5.... before, I had this idea, too... since I am really pleased with them on the A4.... but ended up going for Jap tyres as it seems like a better fit for the 5....

Just one thing I find with the CS.... they don't have the perfect grip on wet road.... but on dry road, they are great!!!

But all that aside i do like to push the mx5 in dry conditions so that should be good. I would def replace the advan neova ad07's that i currently have, only problem is that they are hard to get. Plus im getting these tyres very cheap so i dont wanna complain.

I would have thought that you cant have to much grip in the wet actually

Im not sure what your trying to say. Im assuming you mean cant have enough grip, which is true. But its fun to have a little bit of give.

Get as much grip as you can, leave the dori dori for the skid pan.

i can say from personal experience that not having enough grip on the wet is an expensive process =P

Yeah so can i, but i didnt mean it like that, everyone knows it, its just playful, but im trying to prevent what looks like a 5 page argument about completely irrevelent things which all have something to do with me being young and stupid, and incapable of controling a motor vehicle.

Yeah a friend of mine does them wholesale. Im just not to comfortable with bying them as i dont know them. And brands i dont know seem like knockoff types to me.

that's funny..... coz, I also have AD07 on my 5 now.... i chose that over the Conti Sport when deciding on tyres for the 5..... so now I have AD07 on the 5 and CSC2 on the A4..... I will choose AD07 over CSC2 if you ask me..... the AD07 is the best tyres I had so far!!! great on wet n dry..... good on track, too!!

yeah, AD07 are hard to get.... but not impossible... n I heard that prices has came down a bit, too.... what profile are u look at??

Well its done, i already got uniroyal rainsports on there with a 45 profile. So far i havent had a chance to push but they dont seem to bad. However i would kill to have the ad07's on, nothing beats those and they were so bald it wasnt funny.
