Ok I'm sure its obvious but I just don't get it!
Looking for new 15" black rims for my black '99
Whats this 6.5, 7, 7.5 business? My tyres are just yoko C Drives marked 195/50 R15 82 V - i'm guessing the 6.5 etc is the width, but how can I be sure they fit?
Also... any recommendations for matte black not flashy lightweight 15" wheels?

well a guy on miata.net already answered my 6.5, 7, 7.6 WTF question (it silly... i know a tyre, made of rubber etc would stretch to different widths, but never considered it would be normal to stretch em...heh!)
so what are some nice matte black 15 inchers? anybody here got em? pics?

Have you check the various "Show Off Your Rims" threads? There bound to be some black rims in those thread.
Otherwise, play around on the Wheel Wizard from Tempe Tyres website. There are a few black rims on 15" for the MX5. But more on 16" and 17".
Click here for the link that will take you straight to the Search.

Black - check (but look glossy, not matte)
"Light weight" - check (no idea what the actual weight is though)
cheap - check.
width - 7", which is perfect for a 195
strength - NFI, but a few people use em as track rims I believe...

Those are the exact wheels I have on my car (see my garage thread http://mx5cartalk.com/phpBB-3.0.2/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=30857&p=446772#p446772)
no spacers used and in the photos the car is fitted with 205/50/15 though my next set of tyres will be 195 so the speedo is accurate again. The rims are very durable, I (and a few others) use the same on my 2F racecar as well.
Cheers,
Julian

Cheap chinese wheels but I've been happy with them.
6.9kg a wheel.

If you buy a high-quality spray paint that etches as you spray, then it's a good budget option, without having to sand and prime the wheels.
go into the Garage Chat section and check out the NB8A wheels I have.

Hammer,
The Mania wheels are not Rota's, they are good wheels.
I have a set with RE55S tyres as my track rims and have had no problems at all. They are also quite popular with the 2f guys and if they can't make them fail I reckon they must be ok.
