GB RE001 205 45 R16 for $200 each

Postby wun911 » Mon Dec 15, 2008 3:23 pm

I need 3 peeps to go in on a GB for Bridgstone RE001 in 205 45 R16 (sorry this is the only size im interested in buying to make my life easy).

Usually they sell for $215-220 EACH so you could save around 60 or 80 dollars. I would like to get this done and sorted by the end of the month so we can get free movie tickets!

Just wondering where you got the quote from, because $215 sounds awfully expensive for 205/16. I recently got 225/16 for $177 and got quoted 215/17 for $219 and 225/17 for $229. Unsure if profile has anything to do with the pricing though.

Try ringing BTC Hurstville on 95792811 as this is where I got mine from. They might even get you a better price for GB. :P

EDIT: Nevermind, just saw you're in Melbourne.

Hey Wun, which shop did you ask?
I know the guy at Bridgestone Tyre Center Ferntree Gully quite well.

I might be interested, I was planning to change mine in Feb.

AB7, Wun got the prices from Ferntree Gully. Perhaps you could have a chat and ask if he'll be even more generous 8)

I'm in on this, my tyres are gone. 205/45/16 is an obscure size and prices aren't cheap :( $200 is quite good, most of my quotes were between $215 all the way to $240!

Yeah I know Russel from Bridgstone tyre centre in Ferntree Gully...

So I was thinking seeming everyone wants rubber fitted at different times (I want mine before christmass)

Ill ask if he accepts a deposit for the $200 deal???

Steve, they called ZE326 'Taxi tyres' for good reason :)

I bought a set of RE001's a few months back for $187 apiece (before the AU$ went up, and then back down again), fitted and balanced, with a free set of CB radios as a bonus!

$200 isn't a very good price

It was a promotion run by bridgestone tyre centres back in may...

Their current promotion is a family movie pass, and going by recent ticket prices it's probably worth more than the CB radios!

I called a lot of places trying to get the best price on these tyres. Sadly $200 is a very good price at the moment. $225 is average, $215 the best and $240 the most I found... If anyone can find them cheper please tell 8)

Wun, two questions. Do RACV members get a further $5 off the price as one normallly does at a Bridgestone Tyre centre? And is this guy trust worthy to do a good alignment or should I take it somewhere else?

One step ahead of you I have already factored in my RACV membership for a 5 dollar discount.

I have also been shopping around for these and $215 seems to be the going rate these days, but more than welcome if you can point me out to someone who can do it cheaper.

Im going to do my alignment there, I have been to him for alignment before you can give him specs if you wish.

Yeah, $215 is the bridgestone tyre centre price with the RACV discount you get from most places. Other places are a tad more expensive. Ok, i may get him to do the alignment as well, what does he charge?

I'll check a couple more places regarding prices but i don't think we'll do much better, cant hurt to ask around though.
