Hello,
Just some newbie questions about NB8A.
Does it have LSD? if so, is it common for people to upgrade to a aftermarket one? if it hasn't got one, is it a common mod?
Swaybar. How are the factory front and rear swaybars? is it thick/good enough for occasional trackday? where do people usually source the aftermarket swaybars from? how much do they cost? what are the specs? adjustable?
wheels - is the standard size 14" or 15". Any benefit of running 16"? what are the impacts on the handling on 16". is it common for people to get the factory MX-5 16" wheels from the later series? are they compatible?
thanks heaps for any feedback.

I think the 10 anaversary has an LSD, its a common mod or its on the top of people's wish list.
Whiteline, Racing beat etc make sway bars around $200 ish dollars for an adjustable one that is about 2 mm thicker than stock.
16" wheels more heavy, rubber is more expensive, choice of rubber can be limited.

LSD: If it's not a LE then more likely that you dont have one, although more knowledgeable people could enlighen you as to how to check rather than one wheel on the grass and accelerate hard.
Wheels: The 16' look a lot better in my opinion. However, quality tyres are a lot more expensive. With the standard nb8a 15' wheels something like a bridgestone adrenalin re001's will be around $125 where on the nb8b 16' you are looking at around $200. There is still a decent choice in the 16 inch, although much more expensive. All mx5 wheels up until the NC will be compatible with your car.

yer nba's apart from 10th anniversary edition hav open diffs. dno if its 'common' to upgrade to LSD but is definately a very very worthwhile mod (yes its on my wishlist)
you'd probably want thicker aftermarket sways for the track, since dont cost too much anyway
16" wheels are generally going to be heavier (which will affect handling) than the standard 15's which are 6kg each, way around this is to spend alot of money on expensive ones or buy starcorps (like i did) though are aesthetically questionable (alot better in black
tho)

I agree, there'd be a very slim chance the previous owner upgraded to an LSD.

Anyone who has recently installed a aftermarket LSD can share some feedback about how it handles before the fitting and after?
does the NC comes with LSD standard?
how much do you expect to pay more to get a SE or LE? considering it has leather interior and LSD.
Also, anyone who has upgraded their swaybar. Does it make any substantially improvement, considering it's only 2 mm thicker.
Cheers

ye olde search button will answer most of your questions, ive read reports of people being VERY happy with the improved performance of an LSD. SE's are i think 27-30ish grand. why do you want leather? you just end up sliding around on your seat
