From what I understand the NB8B wheels are painted with a clear on top? Where (if possibe) would I be able to buy some touch up paint so I can hide some 'gutter rush.' I assume its not something i'll find at the local Super Cheap Auto...

While we are at it my NB8A centre caps have started fading, anyone know a matching off the shelf paint code?
or does anyone in Sydney have some leftover from when they did theirs which I could purchase ?

So... no luck?

I dont have too much rash, although every time I look at it I'm quite annoyed. Would be nice to hide it.

i used sunlight silver body touch up paint to cover up some of my gutter rashes. It seems to work well.

Awesome, thanks for that. So the colour match is pretty good?

yeah. It appears that the wheels appear to be painted with sunlight silver paint. You could use the touch up paint, then lightly sand it down and then apply a thin clear coat. This is because the touch up paint is quite thick, therefore you would have clumps of paint on the wheel rather than a thin coat.

I have a great method for getting rid of Gutter Rash on almost any wheel, I recently bought a set of NB8B 16 in rims with just a little gutter rash on them, I really hate seeing a great car with damaged rims.

Just buy a tube of Metal Repair Filler from K-Mart etc. (extremely durable) $12-14.00

Mix Together and fill the gutter rash or other indents.

Wait 2 hours sand back till smooth.

Apply primer / etch primer.

Finish Coat Silver - Dry - Apply Clear Coat

With my wheels I painted the entire rim to ensure a perfect match - if you have polished rims then filling is not an option, unless you paint them. Best option for a perfect match is to buy the small cans of "Duplicolor" paint from Repco, take a few cans out to your car and compare the cap colour with your wheel in the bright sunlight.

Thats awesome, thank you so much for your advice. I think i'll give steve's method a go first as my damage is fairly minor. If that fails I'll think about yours kate, I think i'll have a go at touching it up first though.

I'll probebly end up doing it next week, shall post pics once done. Thanks 8)
