PP2's Help

I have bitten the bullet & ordered a set of PP2's to replace my TR1's. Having them fitted tomorrow but the dealer now tells me they are made in Thailand !
I would have expected these high performance Michellin tyres to be made in Europe at least ! Anyone know where else PP2's are made & has anyone had experience with Thai made PP2's ? Or is the Michellin QC good enough irrespective of origin that they are comparable from all origins equally ?
Any words of experience or comments would be greatly appreciated before I handover the best part of $1,000.
Cheers Steve

I've been using PP2s since mid last year after using various Bridgestone Potenzas since the early '90s. So far I've found PP2s as good as if not better at least for road use. Exact comparison is complicated slightly as I went from 185/60/14 Bridgestones to 195/50/15 PP2s. Sounds like they've gone up in price - I paid less than $150 a corner from Beaurepaires at Frankston.

93 I think you'll find cruisin's getting a set of 16's which are around $225-250 a wheel
the 14's and 15's aren't anywhere near as expensive

Soooo let me get this straight... it isn't a Bridgestone Adrenalin thing where the Aussie ones are crap compared to the Japanese manufactured?
ie all PP2s are Thai made?
Oh wait... not even that... all PP2s regardless of country of origin are equal?

Well....when it comes to the PP2s, it seems like it.
Don't bet on all tyre manufacturers to have equal quality of tyres for the same model though. As some of the people from this forum have found out about some Goodyear models.

I think you will find Precedas were always made in Thailand. Its an asian market model.

FREAKING AWESOME TYRES!
Only now have to see what pressures I need as the MAX tyre pressure rating on the tyre is 50psi...
But definately worth a look in IMHO

I got my 205 45 R16 for $232.00 a wheel including balancing and alignment to my specifications at Jax quickfit. Awesome service at the Haberfield(NSW) store.
And the manufacture date is 2608 as well!
