QLD EOI: Group Buy on Michelin PP2's
ok, there are a couple of us who need to purchase new tyres & we are after Michelin PP2's.
My idea is to get a few of us together & then approach a few dealers to get a price for these fitted.
Obviously, there'll be a few different sizes involved, but I reckon if we have enough interest, we can barter a good deal based on the volume of tyres sold & fitted.
As I was involved in delivering Michys to dealers for some time, I know they operate on a quota system, where the more Michelins they order, the cheaper they get them, this works across the entire Michelin tyre range.
So, even if you want some new energy michys (a VERY good tyre) for your falcon, commodore, camry etc, we can probably accomodate that as well, the object being we approach a tyre dealer & ask what sort of discount we can get on say, 10 sets of Michelin tyres fitted & balanced.
if you're interested, register here quoting your size of tyre (& version if you want other than PP2's)
below is a chart that shows the sizes PP2's are available in:

I'll alternatively be interested in 225/50 16 if they'll fit on a 6.5" rim

Let me know what a set of 205/40/17 are worth and I'll see if I have to hold on to my hard as rock Toyos or not.

Bigdog needs new paws - 205/45 x 16 pleeze... I'm guessing we could work some sort of freight deal to Sydney that works if we get a few bods interested... but if not then I'll have to work on a Sydney GB. I will watch with interest.

another set of 205/50ZR16 87Ws please.
The drive up to Hervey Bay in the rain was a touch eye opening, swapping rims over for track day revealed that the current set have some skid pans left in them but that's about it.
JBT
The 225's are getting a touch wide for a 6.5, and if these are for the povo rims for track days you'd be better off getting R-Specs.

Went for a drive and there were slow cars everywhere, why are NC's so common . . . must be NC = Normally Cardiganed.

Yeah, I thought 225 might be pushing it. PP2s will be fine for me ATM. By the time I've worn them out I'll be ready for Teins and R specs - I scare myself enough on the track already

I think that's OK. Not sure what the 17s are, but the factory Enkie 16s are +55.

45 offset is fine.
Get the 18x8 and put on the 225/40 PP2's (Check the weight first) No problems with clearance, only $$$$
Good luck with the group buy boys.
