Great idea for a thread! We spend so much time worrying about wheel weight and forget the tyre!

Interesting...

Wondering what the weight of the 17" rubbers are like...

I can confirm the RE001 in 205 45 R 16 weighs 9.5225 kg (They are jap sepc if that makes a difference dríven 0 km stickers removed)

I can also confirm the stock NB8B rim weighs 7.1652 kg. Miata net's wheel weights website says its 15.5 lb aka 7.03 kg  massive inaccuracy.

The balance was calibrated before use (with a 'la kilo' a know standard) and the balance adjusted to level with a built in spirit at time of use.

Weighed the rim and rubber in combo to confirm accuracy, must be the air inside but it weigh more. Air inside has added weight??? ohhh wait wheels were balanced with little sticky weights.
