Squeaking noise from left hand side

Postby blehbear » Tue Jul 08, 2008 2:53 pm

Hey everyone im trying diagnose this squeaking noise im getting from the left hand side of the car before i take it to the mechanic. Im thinking that it is coming from the front left.

Ive previously had an accident and it hit the front left wheel and also minorly hit the rear left. There were no visible suspension damage however. But now a few months after, and a track day later, I am getting a squeaking noise from the left hand side of the car when I take off or am at crawling speed.

I have also got a new set of tein ss installed, but I am ruling that out because i can only hear the noise from a standing start on a flat surface or at crawling speeds.

If anyone knows what it is it would be great.

Thanks!

I occasionally get a squeak from the rear on a standing start.
A mate of mine who is a race engineer suggested that it might be a dry bush somewhere.

My guess is squealers. It's a piece of sprung metal that touches the disc prior to the pad running out completely. It means it's time for new front pads. Mine's doing it in the left rear after the weekend at Phillip Island. You only hear it at slow crawling speed. Annoying but not damaging unless you leave it.
