:?: I have adjusted my handbrake 3 times (at the handbrake end) with no improvement. I pull it on and the rear wheels still turn. Visually all looks fine. Other than that the brakes work well and the pads still have plenty of meat. Any ideas??????

First of all check you don't have stuck slider pins at the calipers. Very common problem in single piston sliding caliper systems (including the MX5) if the pins aren't greased regularly.

If that's in order, then adjust the handbrake at the caliper. There is an allen key worm drive adjuster under a hex cap on the inside of the caliper.

Hand Brake Problems

 Well gents I sorted it out.
After several attempts of de and reassembling. There is an adjusting nut on the handbrake lever. Couldn't fix my prob here.
There is no adjustment under the handbrake lever where the cables meet.
There is no adjustment at the back of the brake mech where cables attach to actuator.
To adjust the internal allen headed adjusting screw located behind the rear brake piston boot. PUMP THE BRAKES FIRST!!!!!!. Otherwise the piston travel will be wrong. And the handbrake will never work!!! If the brakes haven't been used for a while the piston pushes back as far as it can (Against the adjusting screw). When the handbrake lever is pulled the piston travel is too far to push the pads against the disk.

Pump the brakes, adjust the screws - all's good. :D
