RE001 review

So last week I had a set of 4 Bridgestone RE001's fitted to my otherwise stock NB8B.
I was coming from a set of yokohama CDrives.
Both sets of tyres are at 34 PSI, both sets on an alignment of 0.5 / 1.0 degree camber F/R, zero toe all round and max caster (5 ish degrees)
Initial impressions were that the RE001 feels like a softer tyre, the CDrives have a reinforced sidewall which is very stiff, and it's a very square shouldered tyre, this gave the CDrives a very responsive and fast turn in.
In comparison the RE001 initially felt a bit more like the tyre was rolling around on the rim, feeling less precise on turn in.
Having now doen 1000km on the tyres though I am very impressed, they grip very well, are very controllable and predictable. Subjective feel says they're slightly grippier than the CDrives.
They are also a very agressive looking tyre, much more semi slick looking than the CDrive, which is oriented more towards comfort and touring.
So far, after just over 1000km I'd give them 9/10. They have slightly less sharp turn in compared to the CDrive, but grip well, handle great and are comfortable and relatively quiet*
I'll try upping them to 36 PSI next week and see how they go.
A highly recommended street tyre, and for $197 each fitted and balanced (compared to $220 for the CDrives) I'm very impressed!
Bridgestone are running a promotion through their tyre centres until the end of May where you can choose a free gift from 3 options when you have 4 adrenalin tyres (Such as the RE001) fitted. The choices are a set of motorola handheld CB radios (which I picked), a 12V car fidge, or a 1GB Creative iRiver MP3 player. It's via redemption though so I can't comment on the quality of the radios yet.
* Quiet, except on the section of concrete surfaced road near lake george on the way to Canberra, they had some quite loud & intrusive harmonic thrumming on that surface, which I haven't experienced in any other tyre.
