Score marks on front discs... is it a concern?

Postby Gazbo » Sun Mar 16, 2008 7:46 pm

My front discs have these odd radial score marks right around the disc surface:

Apart from the occasional pulsation felt through the pedal, the brakes seem ok.

Anyone know what causes this?
Do I need new discs?

sounds like a warped disc. Is braking still linear?

Braking still seems fine.

I was told my someone tonight these are cracks that likely go right through the disc.

Time for replacement.

Hard to tell from pics but they look like cracks. Discs are cheap so a replacement set could be good insurance.
Cracks can be due to overheating the disc or the discs could be under size.
