One of the head honchos at my old work used to be a head honcho at Michelin and Bridgestone. He was in charge of R&D and quality control and long story short, he told me tyres were made at various locations according to geographical convenience to the market.

I wouldn't worry where it's made as the quality control is VERY stringent, and the \"ingredients\" and machinery are all the same.

I'm with wun with the Thai Goodyears - absolute rubbish and it's shameful that Goodyear kept insisting that they were not. Be very prepared to raise a stink with Michelin if they're not up to scratch.

He's still getting used to the view from his Ivory Tower now that he's a mod.

Question is ... how happy are you with the PP2s?

I'm about to fit them onto my 5 to replace the Falken FK451s. Falken's replacement, the FK452 no longer has the 205/45/16, and based on feedback from this forum, there seem to be a general concensus that the Preceda PP2s are an excellent tyre.

Your thoughs on the performance of your new tyres?

The PP2 is an Asia area specific tyre and was always made in the region. So michelin really can't be accused of any bait and switch activity.

PP2 has been repeatedly cited on here as a great tyre. Wouldn't hesitate in recommending them.

PS. People have know for AGES about the different sources Goodyear uses for the F1 GSD3.

don't care where they are made anymore, we've returned from the Natmeet after having 'em fitted the afternoon before we left and 8) 8)

I like 'em, I like 'em a lot! Best tyres I've been on the track with(stocko Toyos, Falken Azenis RT615) and bloody good in the wet aswell.

3500km later and I'm a happy boy!

PP2s FTW

Well, as long as you're happy with them. I guess some manufacturers have better quality control no matter where it's made, unlike some others **cough**Goodyear**cough**

I wonder what manufacturers do this kind of parallel import stuff?

I've had the PP2s on my SE for 18 months and am just about to buy a new set. Tell me, how did you work out they were made in Thailand? I've had a look at mine and can't find a country name anywhere?

Cheers,
Alf
