Starcorp alloy hub rings rozen on Hub. Great design - NOT!

Hiya,
I just wondered if anyone has dealt with the alloy hub rings that come with starcorps getting frozen on the hub? The last tyre service I went to said that they just used some wd40 left it for 10 mins and voila they just came off (the inside edge is pretty tight around the Hub). Apparently the combination of this and a pair of multi grips is not enough in my case. I was thinking maybe a small hand vice clamped firmly on the edges might do it with a bit of twisting? Thoughts?
Unfortunately I am going to have to be putting these on an off reasonably often as my semi slicks are on the Starcorps and the Hub rings on the Rota's I have for my Road tyres are a different size. They are plastic at least - much better idea! Does anyone think it might be possible to get plastic Hub rings in the same diameter for the Starcorps? It might save a whole lot of headaches in the future!
Cheers
Steve
