Want to post something we found on my factory 2004 SE tyres when I had them replaced the other day. I know little about sports tyres so hopefully more knowledgeable members can comment - might be useful for other SE owners.

Had to change out my tyres they had 56 000KLMs on them

The guys in the shop called me over to show me something that they thought potentially could have ended up dangerous. Potential to tear through to canvas.

On the inside of each tyre - on the inside side there was a rib of rubber that had splits every couple of mms - this is hard to explain so I hope these pics may help.

Pics don't really show what the problem is, but regardless of the symptom the tyres had done over 50000km so they would be totally stuffed anyway.

mmmm, they must have been faulty from the factory to last 50000km +. I only managed 14000km outta mine .

EDIT: I doubt there are too many SE's gettin round with the stocko rubber by now anyhow but I guess if there is someone out there with 'em on it'd be good to know! (but I'm strugglin' to see the prob?)

I highly doubt any tyre would look in reasonable condition (tyre wall or not) with 50 clicks on them, none the less something too look out for.

Your AAS sensor requires re-adjusting.






















The Ankle Angle Sensor (AAS) interface is controlled by the nut between the steering wheel and the seat.

Nah, just checked it and couldn't find the AAS sensor, although I did find a FIG JAM there in it's place?
