Brake rotors worn?

Hi,
how can i tell if the brake rotors need replacing/machining?
i noticed that i can't actually remove the caliper assembly from the rotor because the brake pads have worn the rotors so there is a 'lip' on the outside...

yeah..if theres an obvious 'lip'...time for machining. - $50 for all 4 last time i done it.

$50 for all 4 corners!? Where from? Ive been quoted $35 a corner....

just out of interest, what is the min thickness of the rotor before you need to replace them.

Minimum thickness 16mm

got it done by one of those mobile machining guys about 1 year ago. $50 i was charged...
