hi guys,
I know there has been lots of discussion regarding camber adjustments for track use. One thing which i can't seem to find are tow settings. Im getting a wheel alignment/cambre adjustment on Tuesday (going to wakefiled on Thursday) Ive opted to set the camber at -2 all round. What tow setting should i use/do people recommend. Sorry but im a bit of a noob when it comes to this sort of thing. If this has been discussed before please forward me the link. Thanks in advance.

Have a look in the Tech Archive section - there is a full topic on wheel alignment specs for NAs and NBs. Search Charlie Brown's posts for NC specs.

cheers bd, good archive. Although there aren't any specs for a -2 camber...

If you are running on R tyres, -2 is good, if on roadies, might hurt them a little. No toe on the front and some toe in on the rear is the way to go.
What event is on thursday?

im running on a couple of dunlop somethings (really crap ones) on the rear and no name things on the front. i aim to shred them so i can get some proper tyres on the car. i dont have much grip at the moment! (they came with the car!) coz im running road tyres which i couldnt care less about, im not overly concerned if they are running a little thin by the end of the day. i just want them off asap.
thursday ive got a bunch of uni mates heading to wakefield. we've got about 10 or so cars going atm (a couple of 5's, XY, Swift GTi, ...) Should be a good day!

on another note, has anyone from the Canberra region dealt with ACDC in Mitchell. Im getting my wheel alignment done there. I spoke with the bloke there today and he seems really really precious with his work (a good thing) He claims that his alignment machine is the only one in Aus, importing it from germany when he moved here. It measures down to fractions of a minute, rather than fractions of a degree, all completely computer automated with every car you can think of programmed into it with original factory specs! was very impressed

If your car is at STD height you'll lucky to get -1deg on the front
and -1.5 on the rear
I run 3mm toe in on the rear and 2mm toe in on the front
I like the feal of these setting on my car
ACDC Are great mob they do my car

We tend to use Jon at Tyrepower at Tuggers. He has our preferred specs programmed in his machine and offers a club discount. Very particular about his work too. When you see the factory specs you wouldn't want to go near them
Forget minutes - the factory specs are +/- 1.5 degrees from memory.
Russ is right - on a std height car you won't get a great wheel alignment and will have to compromise your castor to get enough camber.

On an Nb8B with completely standard suspension the best I could get was 1.3 degree's neg camber on the front. 2.2 degree's on the rear.

Is that with those funny reject bushes that the manufacturer couldn't get the holes centred properly
7.5 degrees would stretch the braking out a bit
