Wheel repairer in Sydney. Help?

Looking for a good wheel repairer in the sydney area. Have some wheels with major gutter rash that I would like fixed up.

Anybody know of one? I heard there is a good one in Seven Hills but am yet to find out the name of the business or where it is.

I've just dealt with a place called Wheel Repair Centre in Thornleigh. 9980 1125. Very good to deal with.

Have used:
Custom Painting & Wheel Repairs Unit 11/ 11 Romford Rd Kings Park 2148(02) 9621 3355
for a couple of jobs. Small workshop, knew exactly what they were doing.Not flash but very effective.

I bit of a thread mine here, but I've just dropped 2 wheels off to these guys for repair:

1 nasty pothole in arcadia long enough to swallow the rim, caused this x2. It was a bad enough hit, that I lost the air out of both left tyres, and the rims have been buckled and knocked out of alignment...ie when they spun them up to check out the damage, they dont spin properly....gonna cost the better part of $200 per rim, plus a new tyre for the front...it had a chunk taken out of it....thank god I wasnt in the MX5 though....I would of destroyed my front suspension

Can they repair that?! :shock:

I might get my stock rim repaired. It was no where near as bad as that.

Yes, but its gonna cost about 200 per wheel for repairs...Its still better than the $500ish per wheel for a full replacement....bloody rays forged rims...

Most good wheel repairers can fix a knock like that. The wheel is not round anymore, so it is a 'simple' matter of making it round again.

What most cannot fix is when the wheel is buckled across the rotating axis, ie. one spoke is further in/out than the others, like when you slide sideways into a gutter with the wheel not rotating. Apparently this is an almost unfixable issue.

It is easy enough to spot, place the wheel on something that allows it to spin, and spin it. Look from above so that you are looking down on the area normally covered by the tyre. Any wobble will show up as plain as day.

I found this out the hard way with a set of Enkeis. The stuffed one wobbled so much in one spot it kinda made me motion sick.

Has straightened 2 set of wheels for me in the past. A set of 18\" MOMO's that came up perfect, and recently rolled out 3 buckles & resprayed a set for the 5 for $400. . .perfect.

But be warned. He can talk. . . and talk. . .and talk. . .

which is not always a bad thing.
