I use Mothers FX wheel cleaner, its the best wheel cleaner i have ever used. I just spray it on, wait a minute, then rinse it off.

If the stains are really stubborn then spray it on, give it a scrub, then rinse.

This stuff is pretty lethal though, the fumes make your head spin after cleaning 2 wheels.

So what should I use on Black wheels(painted)...or what ever type of coloured finish they are... pretty sure it's paint though.

The same kind of clay bar for car body?
Mothers seems to make quailty products , their Synwax won best chemical at some AAAA trade show

Clay bar works for most things.... but

Most of the black spots are going to be tar

I use a 3M type of green cloth (usually after it's been retired from the kitchen or they will be too coarse) very gently and heaps of Drive as you don't want to ruin the surface.

Alternately use White Spirits liberally, should be cheap as chips from Bunnings etc

or mix up some white spirits and some kitten Number 1 and if it's really stubborn some Kitten Number 2 or a combo of all 3.

you can also try Kero but it stinks.

When you finally get them clean give them a good waxing, then most of the crap will just wash off using normal car wash.

WD40 works well on tar spots too
