One of my shocks has died suddenly
Front left now bounces and shakes. Any info on fitting replacement s available anywhere on here. I'm only on dialup so i wont be able to download too much. Any one familiar with G.A.B. shocks ? Cheers all

Hi Spitty,
On miata.net there are a number of notes on this.

Hi, I just read the instructions in the link. It says to undo the large bolt on the back of the upper control arm. I have found tis is very hard to do and unnecessary. This is how I did mine:
1. Undo swaybar links from BOTH sides
2. Undo bolt throught the bottom of the shock
3. Push down lower control arm and push the bottom of the shock towards the centre of the car to allow acces to the bolt on the lower ball joint.
4. Undo lower ball joint from the lower arm by removing the 2 bolts.
5, undo the 2 nuts on the strut top
6. Using a breaker bar or similar pushed into the lower arm to extend the levering point, stand on the breaker bar to lever the arm down and pull out the top of the shock, this can be a bit fiddly but I guarrantee it is possible. By undoing the balljoint you allow the top arm to move idependantly of the lower, and this allows the shock to be completely removed.

If anyone has a copy of Keith Tanner's book they can lend you, borrow that.
