Clunky Steering

Hey
Just started to notice this recently, however, the previous owner said he'd noticed it as well...
Sometimes when i come into a corner moderatly, ie, not flat nacker as per usual, there is a small clunk in what feels like the LH front that is felt through the steering wheel. It seems to dissapear with speed, or when the wheel is loaded up, ie, i dont seem to feel it when i am working the steering wheel (as you do in a roundabout say) but it is there occasionally under brakes into the apex and you just start to turn the wheel.
My current thinking is something to do with the steering arms to wheel hub connection, or maybe the power steering. If i sit on the driveway and jiggle the wheel the noise can be plainly heard fron the LH front.
Any thoughts? What should i look for down there? From general inspection the PS boots look to be in good condition, as do the steering arms.
