lowering nb8b on standard shocks...

whats everyones opinions on lowering a nb8b with king springs on standard shocks....
im after a lower ride height and slightly better handling...
any detrimental effects of doing this?

Pay the extra money and get some new shocks to go with the new springs and do it properly. The standard NB8B shocks were borderline new. I wouldn't like to see them try and cope with heavier rate springs with some wear and tear on them.

Heavy spring with standard shocks will usually mean a bouncy ride as the damping effect of the shocks won't be able to overcome the bounce of the spring.
You need to balance the spring and shock rates to get the best out of it.

Been there and done that, looked nice but ride was terrible and couldn't handle bumpy roads at all well, especially with bigger wheels and lower profile tyres. Had konis put in 1 week later. Garry and Benny are right, save yourself the trouble (Expense!) of having to take the bits out twice because you will after trying that combo.
