damper/spring replacement options...

Aw hell - ive been reading about all my options here from cheap and nasty to downright expensive (nice shiny new teins)
the car: na6 with standard suspension, 15\" sprint hart rims with 195/50 direzza 101s and strut braces everywhere.
the problem: the front left shock has decided to signal its death by dumping oil out of itself and all over the place.
I would be rather foolish to just replace one axle worth of shocks, leaving the back ones with 103 000 km of hard work on them
the next problem: i dont compete in the -5 (yet) and while i enjoy a sporty ride on the road i dont mind a bit of comfort and relaxation.
(another) next problem: i have a racecar that chews up my $$$ and as much as i wanna go and stuff a set of teins in my beloved na6 im sure that i could get better lap times if i actually put em in the car that i compete in...
What i wish for: advice from the BrainsTrust on how i can spend my $$$ wisely so that i can enjoy spirited and responsive driving on the road, without being tooooo tempted to turn it into a track mule. *sigh*
