Bridgestone GIII

I just noticed that Bridgestone tyre centres have a 'stack sale' on until the end of June.

I went in this morning and was quoted $130 (Canberra store) for the 185/60-14 size. This is a cracker of a price.

I already have these tyres and I could not find anything better on the street side of an RT-615. For $130 each fitted, they are a good buy for those running the original rims on their NA6.

Last time i got quote they were $135 for 195/50/R15

this was not from bridgestone but from 'the tyre factory'.

i am not sure if this was a super low price or what.

hmm, i should have waited a couple of weeks. I bought mine 2 weeks ago from BTC belconnen. I was originally quoted somwhere in the 140s but i told them i was quoted $130 from K-Mart. They matched the price, and with the NRMA discount, they were $125.

The guy in the store mumbled something about $174 being rec. retail.

Does ANYONE ever pay retail on tyres?

dear oh dear.... ...........dealers put a fair sized premium on them to start with..............the gullible & the "i don't care how much it costs" put the cream on their cake........you & i, sniffing out a deal beat them down to a price that is probably close to retail & walk away claiming victory.......the mean spirited amongst us think they beat them even harder "bcause the bastards are only out there to make money"........duh, they wouldn't be in business to NOT make money.................said bargain hunters pay retail & crow about their prowess to anyone within 30 ft about how they had such & such a dealer cowering in the corner in submission in the end..................without realising that dealers can be bastards too & have fitted their car with tyres that are already 2 or 3 yrs old

that's business baby........what goes around comes around

AJ, I know what you mean.

There is list price (aka Retail), good price (aka a little phoning around), and a price the item will never be sold at (aka the price some people claim they got it at).

I just bought a set of Pirelli 215x45x17 for my wifes Mazda 6 from Blairs.
$195 ea fitted and balanced. :D
Cross checked the price at Bob Jane's........ $299!!!! Told them I could get them at $195 and Janes said it was cheaper than they could buy them for.
