Strange knocking sound on slow reverse

Postby Blugg » Mon Apr 17, 2006 2:26 am

Hi fellas,

Need some feedback here. I get a strange 'knock' sound when I reverse my NB8A. It comes about when I do a slow reverse..really slowly..like backing into a parking spot, then I press the brakes to stop. When I brake, there's this 'knock'.

What the heck is that sound? It seems to be coming from the rear.

The rear pads moving in the calipers.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Eh? Does this mean:

1. Rear pads are dead-ish?
2. Rear pads are loose?
3. My brake calipers are dead-ish?

Rear pads might be a little warn but could still be ok, check them.

There's always a little gap so that the pad can move in and out, this is just helping it move left and right also. It shouldn't be something to worry about.

But check your pads anyway.
