torque the wheels correctly & experiment with pressures
rear lower chassis brace.
front lower chasis brace
.
.
.
.
if its still there

Add the Brown Davies roll bar.

if that doesnt get ridd of it.....
Konis & kings.

try the cheap remedies first. work your way towards the more expensive ones....... if its still there

dude, just get rid of the crapy tyre at the rear if you have any, and balance, I had the shimmy with retreads, balancing retreads/crappy tyres doesnt work.

I think the Bridgestone Tyre Centre at Artarmon on Pac Hwy (just near Scotts Honda) has an on-car balancer.

At least they used to....

Since I fitted the Mania chassis braces front and rear, I haven't felt the shimmy once...

Was hoping the whole car would feel a bit more solid, but I think I've got some bushes that need replacing in the front end.

Are your wheels located by the hub or only the wheel studs? If you are relying on the wheel studs then the wheels could be slightly off centre.

I had this with my 17" wheels, then when I got my new wheels and tyres from Bob Jane in melbourne, I still had it and was really pi$$ed off. I went back to Bob Jane with an article from the US guys and explained it to them. They showed the allignment guy and he said , no worries, I'll have a crack at it for ya. He took all tyres off and balanced the wheels , then put the tyres back on and rebalanced it all together, then did the allignment again and it was PERFECT! I was so happy........... now after my allignment from Bob Jane up here in Brissy, the shimmy is back again :(

Interesting what Mickfred says. My case (NA8 not NA6) regarding the 100-105km/hr shakes:

1. Car was a bit shakey when bought but had original suspension and wheels.
2. New suspension (Kings/Konis) and alignment by Fulcrum - no more shakes.
3. Alignment changed by dickheads when car was repaired after bingle - shakes. 1 day later, re-aligned by another mob under warranty - less shakes.
4. 1 week later, new A539s fitted to original wheels and balanced (no alignment) by Bob Jane here - sssshhhhhaaaakes.
5. 1 week later, re-balanced and aligned by Fulcrum (15,000km ago now) - no more shakes and smooth as.
6. NB 15" wheels/tyres (ex Craig) fitted, no re-balance - no shakes, still smooth.

Go figure :? . It seems that balance and alignment affect it.

I had a balance problem with the Direzzas. Several attempts at balancing didn't help, the last attempt at Spinning Wheel picked up an out of round tyre. They took the tyre off the rim and mounted it in a different location and all was fixed. Three other tyre establishments failed to pick it up even though I explained that the wheels had just been balanced and I still had vibes. :roll:

Heasmans Steering in Sydneham does very good on-car balancing.
When I was there once, there was a guy who drove all the way from Newcastle to get an on-car balance.
Seems he had a slightly bent rear axle and Heasmans could fix the shake with an on-car balance.
I've been using them for years, probably since before many of you were born, and I've never had any shaking or shimmying on my cars.
Even the ones with bent wheels!
