Which Brake pads

Does anyone have experiences with the Comp3 Race Brakes??

I'm thinking about getting comp2 at the rear and comp3's or RB74's at the front. Considering the Hawk HP Plus too, cos it seem the RB74's arn't as good as I though.

why would you be getting a comp pad for the rears and an rb74 for the fronts?? that seems a strange combination...

i wouldn't recommend these unless you spend more time at the track than you do on the road. They ARE streetable - but they are also very abrasive and VERY noisy. When cold, I feel a grinding sensation up through the brake peddle and hear the same. They also have some fair limited braking capacity when they're cold (not THAT poor though - but enough to not be your best option).
Comp spec pads are also apparently not pressed as carefully as the usual road pads since they don't aim to meet the same sorts of quality criteria as a street-going pad. I'm told, as a result they tend to have a lot more... er... i guess its 'voidage'... 'bubbles' throughout the pad - which makes them even noisier as you wipe off layers of material.

If you DO spend most of the time at the track though - mate them with some quality fluid and DBA rotors, and your eyeballs will continually hit the windscreen under brakes...

If you want something racy for a street car - don't go further than an A1RM (in my opinion).

So what's something that's good on the streets (i.e. good when cold) and still good on track every so often, cos I really cbf changing pads on and off track days.

As I mentioned - A1RMs are probably your best bet.
Advisable with DBA rotors and some good fluid (Castrol SRF in mine right now).

For everyday driving they are excellent, on the track they stop!

Bit dusty, but that is the side effect of friction, which actually stops you.

They are inexpensive and will give you everything you want from a pad in everyday driving, they stop from cold! And on the track, even with type "R" rubber they do not fade and give excellent feel.

Personally, they have provided the ideal solution, spirited street use, supersprinting (took the Standard class and group last year) and club track days, in the 1.16's at Wakefield.

Put the difference in $ toward a dirty weekend with the missues or a good friend where you don't have to worry about brakes the MX is way too light to care.
